2011 - Bustin' Loose Race to End Breast Cancer

Oct 2 was the 6th Anniversary of the Bustin' Loose Race to End Breast Cancer. Congratulations to the Boobsters for organizing a great event and exceeding their goal by raising over $100,000. Over 700 runners and walkers participated.

2011 - Father's Day River Run

The YMCA hosted its annual 5 and 10 km run on June 19. Congratulations to everyone who ran, with special recognition to all of the Learn to Run Club members that participated in their very first race.

2011 - BIRS Fun Run

On Sept 10, the Brain Injury Relearning Services hosted its annual 1/2 marathon, 5 and 10 km run/walk. Several Mad Hatters participated in the event and challenged themselves on the hilly course from Echodale to Gas City Campground and back, on a particularly hot September day.

2011 - A Little Adventure

Some of the club members like a little more adventure so they participated in events including the Medicine Hat Massacre Adventure Race held on May 7, 2011. This adventure race combines navigation, mountain biking, canoeing and trekking.

2011 - Learn To Run

This was the third year that the Mad Hatter's offered a Learn to Run program held over 10 weeks this spring. Congratulations to all the participants and volunteers for making this successful again this year

2011 - Path Pounder

On July 9, Mad Hatters had the opportunity to register as individuals or as a team for a 50 km trek on a hot and challenging route through the trails and hills between Echodale and the Gas City Camprground. It was a great event organized by Runner's Soul. Congrats to those who took on the challenge and thanks to all who volunteered at the water stops along the route.

2011 - Alberta Bound

Mad Hatters participated in numerous races all across the province. Some of those included the Lethbridge Moolight Run in March, Coulee Cactus Crawl in June, Lost Soul Ultra in Sept. Others travelled to Red Deer in May, Footstock in Cochrane in June, Crowsnest for Sole Survivor in July and Taber Cornfest in August.

2011 - K100

June 25, 2011 Kananaskis 100 Mile Relay - Mad Hatters' had a team of 10 enter the relay - the "Hat's Variety Pack". Weather was great, the support crew was awesome and the scenery made for a fantastic day.

2011 Boston Marathon

Congratulations to Stella, Val and Chris who qualified and ran the Boston Marathon on April 18. What a tremendous accomplishment.
